In autumn 1999, those terribly nice fellows…Yes, Bob Butler &
Barnstable Brown, returned to the stage to produce their finest production – ‘Butler & Browns’ Christmas Calamity’- which guaranteed to make even the most serious person smirk!
Touring Art Centers in the UK they served up their style and panache nationwide.
What we have done:
- Butler and Brown’s Christmas Calamity
‘Barnstable Brown returns home from the local ‘tennis club’, having been drooling
over Betty Bluebottom, (the last women to own an outside privy!) Only to announce to his budding butler Bob, he has invited the ENTIRE tennis club back to wine and
dine, in the vain attempt to gain Betty Bluebottom’s heart!
“The only thing is Butler…..they’ll be arriving in 1 hour!”
Horrified by the lack of ‘sense’ demonstrated by Barnstable Brown and the lack of
time to prepare such a party, Bob Butler has no choice but to take control.
With the aid of juggling, magic, slapstick and song, amongst other colourful skills,
Butler & Brown set out on a rollercoaster of comedy, skills and pure nonsense!
The clock has begun “Tick Tock!” Will they make it in time? Will Barnstable Brown
find a suitable gift for Betty Bluebottom? Will Bob Butler retain from throttling Barnstable Brown? Or will it be a true calamity!?
